I want to replace the AC compressor in my 65 coupe, with a new Delco unit. The two part stores that carry Delco Compressors, don't have a listing that goes back to 1965. What A6 copressors are interchangable?
They do have 1972 listed. Would that be a straight bolt up as I suspect? My car is a 1965, 300/327 factory AC, with powerglide.
Thanks!

I don't think there is much difference, if any, in the basic compressor. Years ago when I was a GM parts manager we used to get some at the local scrap yard and rebuild them. It was less time consuming to just swap a rebuilt in a customers car when we needed one. This was back when these were all that GM used. I know that there was only 1 AC/Delco rebuild kit for all GM brands.

The basic compressor is the same (assuming you have the correct displacement for the Corvette), but the Corvette clutch is different - the drive pulley is larger diameter than the passenger car, and the electrical connector for the clutch is on the outboard side (pass car is on the other side).

I just finished installing and charging the unit. I took it for a 10 mile drive, and it blows nice and cold.
Thanks for your help!!!
