Hi all,

Under hard cornering with a full tank my gas cap leaks fuel. I can smell it while driving and if I stop and flip up the filler cover I can see some still in there (the rest must be draining out the drain hole).

Since the gas cap looks original the most likely culprit is the gasket, which is hard as a rock. Can this gasket be replaced without replacing the whole gas cap? If so is this a GM part?

Thanks,

Andy

Well.....I replaced mine with a lockable version.....just to prevent....

Anyway....you can make one quite easily....buy a piece of rubber or cork...or whatever material it´s made of....take the old one, lay that one top...use some dupli color spray....and just cut it out with a very sharp knife.
