I've started to do some of the minor things to the 65 vette until I can afford to do more.

I've fixed one of the headlight motors and now looking at the radio (original tube radio).

Has anyone on here looked at one? I'm wondering if the green and black wires go to the speakers (speaker not included - well I still have parts to pick up....could be in there).

Is there any built in amps or capacitors for the speakers?

Any help will be appreciated!!!

As I recall, yes, but it's singlar (speaker, not speakers). The speaker has a short 2-wire harness (from a speaker-attached capacitor) with a connector that should mate with the radio speaker harness.

As I said, the speaker has an attached capacitor... no amplifiers back then.

Actually, there is a transformer on the speaker (not a capacitor). The transformer matched the speaker winding to the impedence needed by the radio's output amplifier. If you want to use the original radio (assuming it still works), you will have to get the correct speaker with the transformer otherwise the radio will literally burn down.

Here are a few lesser know places for old radio stuff:

Yup, you either have to use a 10-ohm speaker, or one with a matching transformer (like the original speaker has) so the radio "sees" 10 ohms; otherwise, you'll fry the output transistors.
