My directional signals are not working on either side, front or back. The bulbs are fine, as they work when I hit the hazard button, or turn on my headlamps.

Given the fact that the hazards work, I didn't think it was the flasher, but I replaced it anyway. It is not a fuse problem, becuase the lights work under other circumstances.

I hope someone can help me out, so I don't have to pay an arm and a leg for someone else to correct, what is probably an easy fix.

thanks.

Thanks for both replies. Is that switch located in the steering column? I'm not sure where it is?

Yup, it's inside the top of the column, below the steering wheel hub; you have to remove the steering wheel to get to it.

Thanks JohnZ.

'JrdnsEdu', where did you get your switch. I've called around to the local auto part stores, and they can't get one. The local chevy dealer said that they had to try and locate one. O'reilly's finally said that they could get one, but it would be $50.

I'm sure I can find one on the net. Do anyone of you have a preferred parts company. I have dealt with Zip in the past, and wasn't happy with the results.

The turn signals use a seperate flasher than the hazard. The hazards are powered by the battery and the turn signals are powered by the ign switch. Check the flasher and the fuse.

Mike,

I replaced the flasher on the fuse box. My assembly manuel labels this a flasher/hazard. Is there another flasher that I am not locating?

The t/s flasher should be behind the passenger side dash panel.

Hello, long time lurker, short time poster.
One other place to look is at the circular wiring harness connection located under the dash. Could be a bad connection.
My blinkers quit working but the brake lights, flashers etc. all worked. Wiggled this connection and they started working.
Cleaned it up, made sure of good connection, has been working ever since.

Thanks to everyone who posted. With all of your help, I was able to find, and correct the problem.

Stingray6974, you saved me a lot of agravation this weekend. I was prepared to rip the steering column out, and replace the signal switch. I had no idea that there was a separate flasher underneath the dash on the passenger side. Well, I found that, and it was burned out. Replaced it, now all is well.

I've never had the luxury to be much of a back yard mechanic. But do this forum, my knowledge has grown ten fold. Repairing and modifying your own corvette is half the fun.

Thanks to you all!
