At 700 km North of the artic circle the winter is approaching and its time for a little love and care.

It looked ok, but the rust was hiding underneath

Looking good Vidar!!!

Great pics. Are you going to share more of the "TLC" through photos? By the way- the color of your 'vert is simply beautiful!

Some of us are lucky enough to have 1 C3... you my friend are lucky enough to have 2... and you live in Europe where gas is 4x what we pay.
:L

I hope you don't mind linking this pic-its a great shot!

Vidar,
It looks like you're having lots of fun with Corvettes far away from where they were born. I'd love to see more pictures any time. Good luck with your project.
Regards,
Alan

The gas price is sky-high, but I can't use more than one vehicle at the time;)

An update on the 69 roadster project
014.jpg

The frame is at last - after alot of work - primed.

019.jpg

Assembly has started

020.jpg

New engine in place, the trans is a modified 200R4. I'm sceptical to this trans, experience with the standard TH-200 is NOT good, but this one is claimed to be better than the 700R4 and it fits without modification to the crossmember.

022.jpg

Both trailing arms are back where they belong and the progress is visible

023.jpg

Sometime in the remote future I may run out of work, but every corner of my garage is filled up so this one have to stay outdoors at the moment

Vidar,
Your website is awsome, I've saved it to my favorites to use it for future referance when and if I decide to restore my 68 tripower. I'm struggling with the decision to keep it a survivor or restore it to new again. Its a little rough but they're only original once. Keep the photos coming.

The brake pipe is 3/16" copper tubing

You DO NOT want to use copper tubing for the brake system; VERY dangerous - not strong enough to begin with, and will work-harden under pressure cycles and fail. Only use STEEL for brake pipes; they see up to 1200 pounds per square inch pressure.

Interesting thread and great website! Encourages me to get going on building a frame to hoist from in my GA and get after my own body off project! Thanks!

Only use STEEL for brake pipes

Vidar, there's 2 options commonly used here: STEEL and stainless steel. Both are commonly available pre-bent from Corvette parts suppliers. Or you can get steel brake tubing and fab your own... Hope that helps.
