I am in the process of having my 283 engine rebuilt with the date of 29 Sept 1960. I have a pair of heads F-28-0 & G-18-0 that i want to use, Would these be acceptable dates that i could use and if not what would be the correct time frame for the heads that i need. Thanks

Nobody will ever know the head dates or casting numbers - they aren't judged; they only look at the casting symbols on the end of the heads to identify them. In any event, the six-month "window" for the block casting date runs back from the car's final assembly date, not from the stamp pad date when the engine was built.

Thanks for the info John!
