I drained the oil last week and then noticed the parts guy gave me what I thought was the wrong oil filter.. PF46E
By the time I found this out the store was closed. The Z06 sat for almost week draining. Come to find out the filter was correct, just a changed filter number.
Today I put filter on put in 6 1/2 quarts and car says low oil level. So I top off with 7 quarts and it still shows low on the stick.
Any thoughts.
Thanks,
Jim

I agree.. Just surprised it's going to take a full quart more than the owners manual recommends. Guess I really drained it dry.

Is the front end up,or is it flat on the ground?~??

Pretty sure when I read the manual it said with filter "I'll dbl check..
I had it up on my lift, so no tilt..

First place to start would be to get it off the lift, start and run the engine, park the vehicle on a perfectly level surface, and check the oil level after a couple of hours or ideally over night. Good luck with it. :)

Owners manual said with filter..
Got it off lift and ran a few minutes..
Let it sit over night and it registered right at full (with 7 quarts)
I've read on a Z16 forum that many Z06s did in fact take 7 quarts w/a filter..
I think I'm all set..

Thanks all
