I've got a '73 and am planning to put new wheels and tires on all around. Anyone know what specific tire and rim sizes would be correct for a C3? I have some smaller rims and tires on the front and now I would like to fill in the wheel well properly.

Any thoughts?

All '69-up C3's used 15" x 8" wheels with -.50" offset; steel rally wheels were standard.

Tire sizes can be tricky. You need to check with your tire supplier concerning today's tire sizes vrs. tire sizes in 1973. Todays 70 series tire is taller than the original GR70X15s that came on your car. All of the big tire stores have a table that compares the circumferance of todays tires with the older sizes. This is where you have to watch out more so than the tire width. I just ran into this last fall when I replaced the tires on my 73. I used 235-60X15s and have no clearance problems.

I've run 255/60-15 on both the original rims and American Racing Vector 8.5X15 w/ about 0.5" negative offset.

Go period correct style rims. 255x60 in rear and 245x60 in the front. No Spacers.

Those look real nice!

BTW did you know if you rotate your outside mirror(s) 180, it raises the head up about an inch and you can see more that your rear fender?

:hijackIf you rotated your mirrors 180°, wouldn't they be pointing down and facing forward??? :chuckle

You're right if you rotate in the Z & Y axes. I was referring to the X axis.
