77 A/C Control

I replaced the a/c heater control as a unit 1 yr ago. Got it from one of the major Corvette suppliers. It began leaking at the diverter valve on the top of the unit. It wouldn't leak if the selector was on a/c, but you could hear it if on any other position. I pulled the unit out and the leak was from the selector valve itself, where it pivots. Recently, I was at a Corvette show and bought the "valve only" from a vendor there. I installed it and it leaks worse than the old one. They are not adjustable that I can tell. Does anyone have a reliable source for these valves or have had similar problems?

I bought a vacuum control valve from him last year for mine. It was cast metal and worked fine, not quite sure it's exactly what you need but he might have your part.

I bought mine at The Last Detail and have had no problems with it.

Thanks for the replys. Bill75, the '77 is different than the 75 and is only available in good old plastic. Doc Rebuild did have a "Delco" switch so I ordered it.

When you get yours, let us know if it worked please. I have my interior gutted right now and it would be a good time to do a switch to a new one. My car wasn't running when I got it so I don't know if mine leaks or not.

Art Jett I'll probably repace it next week. DR Rebuild's said shipping could take a few days. I'll post the results.

Great! Right now I'm in Trinidad but should be home by the end of next week. I'm getting ready to put in my new motor and transmission bot the interior is still down to nothing so it would be a good time to replace things like that.
