'79 Lighted Visor Vanity Mirror

Since Road and Track made specific mention of the lighted passenger side mirror in their scathing review of the '79 it must have been available.

I have a very late production L82 '79 (the Jimmy Carter 85 mph speedo) with every option save the spoilers, low mileage and in very good and highly original condition.

The connector in the main harness near the glove box is there but it has only the standard mirror on the passenger side.

Interior is dark green with green cloth.

I see no individual RPO for the lighted mirror so presume it was part of the common ZX2 "Convenience Group".

Do other '79 owners find a lighted mirror?

does yours have the rpo for the convenience group?
a list of rpo's that your vette waS BUILT WITH,should be in your glove box affixed to the bottom.

I haven't found the build sheet. It has everything else that came with the convenience group. It has the CB, glass tops and every factory option except the spoilers.

Correct. The visor mirror came with the convenience group package. I have it in my 80.

No lighted visor in either of my 79s, both with "convenience group" option.
One is May 79 production, other is Sept 79(in last 3 weeks of 79 production).
Neither build sheet mentions it.

Thank you. It would seem that it didn't make into all of the 79s. Perhaps color mattered?

perhaps,it was built late enough,that gm had started using a 1980 wiring harness.
