Got up over freezing today so decided to go out and get the vette started (79 L-82 custom body mods light motor mods 32,000 miles on the car) been a long winter and just wanted to here her purr. Put battery in checked fluids and tried to start her. Could not get fuel to the carb. primed carb and it started right up, ran till carb went dry again still no fuel. So I know that the fuel pump has went gone bad. I thought it was going out last fall when I put her away for the winter. So question is do I replace the stock pump (this one looks like the stock pump so it has lasted 30 years)or do I put a eletric pump in (witch I have on the shelf). Just looking for the most reliable way to fix the car.

Stay with OEM style pump for safety and reliability. Too many ways to do it wrong with and electric pump, unless you have a real need for one.

thanks guys thats what i will do. Didnt know what to do with the return line if I changed over to eletric.
