'81 Header Sidepipe Pictures & Opinions

Opinions:
Do what ever you want with your Vette, its yours!!
Sidepipes Buy the painted ones fit them to the car first and then send out to get powdercoated. My next set will be homemade using 68 style side covers with the O2 sensor mounted as close to the ports as possible. I am curious where Gedmeyer had his O2 sensor mounted, I welded mine in my self and it is out where I can see it. (I get a lot of comments about it)
Go for it!!!

My O2 bung is welded midway down the length of the collector, in the 4-5'oclock position. You cannot see it unless you are under the car or looking straight down the backside of the pipes, from the top. I'm sure there is a more 'ideal' position for the sensor, but this is what I've got to work with.

That's pretty much the way I see it! Thanks for the opinion and info.

I want sidepipes!!!!

I really want sidepipes...but need to have cats due to emissions. Does someone make a slip in cat for these sidepipes?

Thanks,

My Hookers look great but with the same complaints!

I purchased Hooker sidepipes and headers from Jet-Hot two years ago.
They also welded the bung for the O2 sensor in the wrong position (next
to the frame). They corrected the problem but it took two weeks.
I too had a spacer made for the AC. Mine are ceramic coated black.
NOT scratch resistant. All the B.S. you go through is worth the end result,
looks and sound! I will post some pictures in the near future.
