81 Headlights

My 81's headlights are stuck in the up position. I've checke all the vac. connections and hoses, and replaced the headlight switch. I'm stumped, anyone have a suggestion

I had one do that on my 1980 and it was the vacuum canister, it is under the front headlights , it looks like a coffee can with two nipples on the end, check this for rust through and leaks.

Do you have actual vacuum at the switch? If at the switch, then at the override under the dash. I fixed mine by tracing where the last vacuum was and where it ended and played between these two points.

check your overide switch

Under your steering wheel there should be a black knob that can be pulled down or pushed up. When this is activated (pulled down) it will keep your headlights in the up position.
