Hi,
I am looking for the paint numbers for my 81 red corvette.
Any intersting URL / info?
thanks guys,
Chris.

All rigth we have a number : 75. Thanks.
When I call my mechanic with this number and he looks in his database he sees GM chevys 81 to 84 "spectra red".
Are we talking about the same color?

We are researching, with my mechanic, the color code of my vette to give it a fresh look. We could not find the color code tag and we are having problem with fiding the code...

Any clue? Am I on the rigth with 75?

:confused

it's code 75 red. Dupont# B8115 Ditzler# 3332
There was no code 80 used on an 81.

Your welcome...Dave

Don't know if this helps, but my 81 is also code 75. I developed some rock chips in the nose during the spring run to Helen so when I returned I took the car to get some touch up paint made. The code 75 for 1981 came back as "Blaze Red". Thats what I was told and the paint matched the color on the car perfect.

Let me know what you find out....

Well, research has been done and people have voted and 75 it will be!

Tifton81, your vette color in your avatar looks damn close to mine, crossing fingers anyway... results begining of july ;)

Thank you, Burglar and Tifton81 ! :w ... and rob :CAC

It's about time I'm replying... :(

Well, the number 75 was the good number. I had the job done in the summer, but I just wanted to protect the fiberglass that was showing a lot through the peeling/cracking paint. Big restauration/paint works are planned in 3-4 years.

So I ended up doing a good sanding (x2) and a coat of epoxy red 75 at Maaco. Came out really good for the cheap price ($930).
Now I need to water sand the car myself (my trust to maaco don't go that far). A clear coat would be nice too, but this is only for 3-4 years, so it's a no...

Well, now I just need time. And that's another story :)

Thanks for the help again !

Now heading for a new transmission / new tires / no money in the bank :cry

Chris.
