Bought the car last fall, wipers "worked" briefly
then quit altogether.

Since then, cleaned all connections, plugs, grounds,
and verified good grounds.

Replaced switch (corroded), took out pulse
controller and closely checked solder connections
(some had been resoldered).

Then I finally found how to test the motor -
found the motor was bad.

I've got the large silver colored motor with
no external wires, but all the catalogues
show as assy with a smaller, black motor
that has the wires coming out of it, although
some of them show the cover side and it
looks like it has the same configuration as
well as the 3-lug spade connector.

As that's the only type of replacement motor
I can find, I assume it must work? But how
do the external wires hook up? The wires
in my motor stay inside the housing and seem
to go to the back of that 3-spade hookup.

Thanks!

Theres a decent picture of a Wiper motor on that page. I have seen them Silver, Blue, Black and combinations. My original was GM Blue, but my rebuilt is Black and silver. The motor as seen in picture does NOT include the plastic face plate...which would be on the otherside of the pictured motor anyway.

My wiper motor unit has 3 sets of wires leading INTO it. 2 plug directly into the motor and 1 connects to the faceplate. Called the "Wiper Motor Cover" at least by Zip Corvette.... The whole unit is bolted in with 3 bolts, and there should be a spongy seal between the motor and firewall hole....Cost a few bucks at best.

Good luck, happy cruisin..:)
