I can't believe a "N. American" routed the spark plug wires in the 82 Corvette! Does anyone know the easiest way to change the wires on the passenger side? What do I have to remove...etc.:mad

The way they were done going through the motor mounts and the heat shields is a real PITA to replace if you go that route, but can be done. If you want to have the stock look the easiest way is to do a custom wire install. Get some good bulk plug wire, route the wire through the motor mounts and then crimp on the new ends at the proper length. OR remove mount mount bolts, lift the motor, route the assembled set of wires and reinstall the motor mount bolts...this is a huge PITA.

Thanks Buc, but I wussed out. I ended up doing a custom install last night with accel yellow 8mm wires. Looks a hell of a lot better, and runs great.

Glad you got it figured out and the way you wanted it. :thumb

I replace mine once in the stock fashion....never again! Even the Chevy dealer did not want to do it as they said it would be costly (labor wise.) Took a weekend for me total.
This time going custom install and calling it a day! ;)
