i have posted about my whistle in my engine before. i thought it was the alternator at first, then i thought it was the air pump. today i found out it is the seal on my intake cover (air box, or whatever you want to call it.)

i need to replace it, there is a secton missing (about 3 inches) that is letting in air and causing a loud whistle. the car has a K&N air filter and i dont know if there is a special gasket needed with a K&N or if it a facotry one will do the job. also where can i get the part i need? thanks.

Bone Yard or Ebay...I don't think they are available anymore...Are you talking about the seal (rubber) inside the Air Canister, just above the air filter?

Go to Home Depot and pick up the stuff you put around doors to keep the drafts out. That will seal it up just fine. I've done this with great results.

thanks

jon, yes that is the part im talking about

CKA, that was my contingency plan. looks like plan B is now plan A. thanks.
