Can anyone tell me why when my car is in a controlled slide why
the engine stumbles? It acts like it isn't getting fuel or
something. Any help with this would be a road racers dream. Thank You.

It does it whether it has a full tank of gas or hardly any gas in the tank.

maybe traction control?

He's got an '84. ;)

Hang in there Kevin, someone will see this before long and have a solution. I'm sure of it. :CAC

The Haynes manual that I refered to when my fuel pump took a dump explained that there is a special sump in the fuel tank that is designed to prevent the pump from being starved during hard braking, slides etc. When I replaced the pump I found that the sump had come loose from the tank. I could not figure out how to refasten the sump and thus I removed it and it is presently sitting in a corner somewhere. If someone knows how this thing is supposed to mount in the tank, you might solve a problem for the both of us.
Thanks
