I know this has been addressed several times before but here's my circumstances:
I got my '86 back on the road after 10 years in storage. I had a high idle problem a few months ago and fixed it by spray cleaning the throttle body and then recalibrating the TPS. Worked fine until the high idle came back. Sprayed it clean again and it went away. The high idle problem also appears when fuel tank level is very low.
Now it's back again and won't go away. I've checked for vacuum leaks and there don't seem to be any. No codes showing (which pair do I ground to clear out? - top right, top left, bottom right, bottom left?)
I'm beginning to suspect the IAC is clogged up but can't find an article on how to clean and possibly replace this. Can someone post a link?
I think if it's a gunk problem, I suspect I have no long-term fix as the engine set up ran with no cat and now it's got a cat put back on a system with high flow in mind (ZZ3, Edelbrock runners and plenum, SLP headers).
