My 86 witn an automatic and 60,000 miles has started leaking (beltching) transmission fluid. It appears to be coming out of the dip stick - fill tube when it is first fired up after setting for a week or so. There is a plastic wire loom that runs next to the tube and it is soaked. The fluid runs down the loom and then drips on the pre converter shield and burns/smokes very badly. It appears to stop after a short time but there is then enough fluid on the preconverter shield to burn/smoke for quite a while.
Any ideas?
