I have some ugly noises coming from the rear wheels, mainly pass. side. I pulled off wheel, rotor, spindle hub(think it's called), and gained access to my bearing. My bearing retainer is gone. It came out in pieces. The balls were still surrounding the yoke. My question is, Do I have to replace the bearing hub assy. or can I just replace the 2 bearings within the hub assy.? 150.00 seems to be the price for 1 bearing hub assy, as opposed to about 40.00 for the 2 bearings that make up the assy. I don't know for sure that I can replace the 2 bearings within the hub.

The bearing and hub is one sealed unit. Try PepBoys...I think they are 129.00 with a lifetime.

Thanks JonM, That's what I thought after looking at a picture online for parts. OK I'll try Pep Boys.

Youre supposed to replace the whole unit. Passenger side is usually first to go, and it was on mine earlier this month.

You may also want to have a look at the U-joints on the halfshaft.

Ouch.. grinding coffee again?

Do em both while your down there & the 1/2 shaft U joints.
