86 vette, lopes at idle

have changed the tps sensor and the maf sensor, now there is a still a lope at idle when it is cold and every now and then I get a service engine soon light. what gives? some of the guys at work suggested it might be the fuel filter seeing that the car has sat for seven years before I got it. It is my first vette and I love it, but I want it to run right, any suggestions?

First thing I would do is check the code. See what that is, and it might help you find your problem.

I agree. The code, using something like a paper clip inserted in the ALDL port, will give you and idea of where to begin to check.

You can't just install the TPS and consider the job done. You have to check, and if necessary adjust, the voltage setting using a digital volt meter.

It's simple and easy to do.
