Help! 87 vette Engine

I have an offer to buy a complete engine (BLOCK CASTING # 14010207 ) iCANT FIND ANY INFO ON THIS BLOCK CASTING #. The owner says it out of a 84 vette. My block is good but im interested to start and build my son a 85 vette. any response would be helpful

What is the 3 letter code stamped on the block pad ( front pass side above WP bolt hole )?

That will tell you exactly what ci / Hp / car / trans engine came from.The casting # means little as the one block casting could have been used for multiple apps

14010207 should be an '80 - '85 block.Pretty common use
Could be 2 or 4 bolt.
Variously listed as a truck block but some have it as pass car engine as well
