All: An 88 35th for sale on Vettehound caught my eye. I searched the forum archives because I thought I recalled some discussion about this car last year. It's an auto, advertised as one of three autos, but I thought there were only 3 total 35th TTs, with one auto, I think. I'm familiar with Rene Cardenas' 35th, and this is not his car. Anyway, wasn't this car wrecked badly at one time? Does anyone know any history on it? Sorry if this is familiar territory on the board, but couldn't find anyhthing on it and had to ask. Tom

Yes I believe that car was wrecked. It was a development car for Be-Cool radiators. I haven't seen it in person though. Im sure 89x2 has. He'll chime in later.

I have been talking to the seller, by phone and by email for the past week. Even when I asked if this car had any history of any damage the seller a (dealer) told me the car had none as far as he knew. Even from the pictures I recieved it's clear that something is not 100% right on this car. The headlights look off wack, the nose is about a 1/4" lower than the hood as are some other items under the hood that do not sponsor the look of a car with only 23k miles on the clock.

Honestly as much I as I would love to own a 35th annv. TT Callaway, the 32k asking price is a bit out there considering the cars current condition.
On my last communication with the seller, he mentioned that he has another interested party with the fixed price of 32k. Hope no one gets burned.

Thanks

Thanks for all the info and for the archived thread. Would love have it, but don't have the time to get involved in trying to own it right now. Hope it finds a good home and can be put right as it would be a keeper at some price.

You are certainly welcome :v :beer

How did you stumble upon our lil' site?? Were you looking for Callaway info specifically??

I am sure everyone here would lend a hand, should you find a Callaway you want - Ask many ?'s as there is a ton of info here :beer

Was referred to the site last year by 69MyWay - Chris McDonald - and have been lurking since. I am usually pretty sparing with posts. Good site, great forum. Yes, there's a B2K in my future but not sure how soon. My gut tells me that if I can't get into one in the next 12-16 months, they will get out of my reach for a while. I had the hots for Tex Schwab's car last year (91 TT coupe w/Aerobody), but it was out of reach at $40k or so. Thanks for the kind welcome.

I guess I'd better look at this Callaway seems it is close to me. Especially after no sucess at Barrett-Jackson. Thanks to CAC for the heads up on previous damage. Whats with all the Callaway automatics for sale. They still are not my first choice. Just got back from Florida. Surf n Sun has the right idea on where to live. Midwest winter is too long this year!

Is the Schwab's Callaway still on the market?? They were asking $49k, if I recall :confused it is #91-001

Keep the faith and don't be shy w/ your Callaway ?'s :m

Yeah, I remember you saying you went to see the Navy Blue car that "sold" :confused

Not sure why so many automatics have come up for sale - does seem like a huge percent of them have...

If I were that close, I would certainly look at the car - the more you see before you purchase, the better consumer you will be ;)

Good luck :v

- BTW, we were almost 60 here in the Mid. Atl., tomorrow we should be higher - may have to drive the SNAT Vert :Steer

The Schwabs' car sold last fall. It was a very fine example for sure. Will continue to enjoy the forum and look forward to hearing more about this 35th.

There is another B2K however, it is in Fla. It is a 1989 Navy blue met. w/ black leather and Callaway Aerobody - Owner wanted mid to upper 30's from what I last heard... Has only 5k mi on it :eek

B2K Fla by 89X2

do you have any more info on 89 in Fla?
Would have been nice to look when I was there but another trip would be okay. Woke up to 2 more inches of white crap this morning with a strong wind.:(

Thanks for any help. Would be nice to find a suitable car before summer, but I don't have a good track record of finding the right car quickly.:L

At the time, the fella had two Callaways for sale, both 89's. He sold the Automatic 89 Convertible w/ Aerobody still new in the box back in late Spring 2002 however, last I heard, he still had the Dark blue met. 89 Aerobody Coupe.

"CORVETTE: 1989 Callaway Coupe. Aerobody: Midnight blue, black leather, only 5,300 miles, perfect condition. Best offer. 954-771-3869 Ft. Lauderdale, Fl."

Later on, his price was named and I understand it to have been in the mid-upper 30's
Maybe someone else will recall that ad :confused

Hope this helps :v :m

I wanted that 89 badly, but couldn't afford it. The price has jumped around from mid-low 30s up to 55k. Im not even sure if he still has it or not.

89 Callaway Fla.

Thanks for info!

Hey how about that another automatic convert. :confused This is like a rerun of when I bought My current car. I see if he still has dark blue car. It is just hard for me to give up on those 6-speed C-4 roadsters.:upthumbs I'm hoping a Callaway keeps that going. Still not ready for a C-5 or C-6? even though those ZO-6's are a real kick. Hoping to get a look at 88 35th B-2K next week.
