Well I hate to say it but the deal fell through on the 88. The buyer couldnt come up with the money after verbally agreeing to buy the car, oh well. Im a bit upset by this but now the car is on ebay and up for bidding as we speak. It was just put on this morning so we will see what happens. Im asking $34,900.00 OBO for the car in case anyone is interested from here. Its a nice car, and described properly on ebay, no funny business here folks.

ITEM # 4526767354

I can be contacted at our store 317-861-6121 just ask for Josh McDermott

I wish I could Mark. I'm just can't do it right now.....and it's not exactly what I'm looking for. I'm thinking 90 or 91, Aerobody, 6 sp.

It might make $25,000 on Ebay

TT #002 has been on Ebay 3 times now and has not pushed past 20,000, they want 27,500....fair price I say...I hope you find a buyer, but do not hold your breath for that coin....

Very nice car!
But i think you have much more attention on ebay when you put it up as a Callaway Corvette insteat of a Chevrolet Corvette. When i search ebay for a Callaway i ain't going to find this vette.... just a thought.

The flip side is probably more true... If you are searching for a ~$30,000 ZR1 or C5 and unaware/forgot about Callaways, maybe you'll see this and say "hey, that's a hell of a car for the money I was gonna spend". If you were specifically looking for a Callaway, I think you'd still find it. :)

I was just reading the auction and this comment was added -

On Feb-10-05 at 07:02:05 PST, seller added the following information:

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO MENTION THAT OF THE 400 CALLAWAYS PRODUCED IN 1988 THIS CAR IS ONE OF 124 PRODUCED WITH THE B2K OPTION, MAKES THIS CAR EVEN MORE COLLECTIBLE!
:confused
What were the "other" 276? That's a confusing statement. The COG site shows this for 1988 production numbers:

1988:
105 cars were ordered with RPO B2K, while Callaway records show 125 cars constructed.

Bowling Green records showed 50 coupes and 55 convertibles made while Callaway records showed 60 coupes and 65 convertibles. 1988 also saw the official release of the automatic transmission – 10 coupes and 16 convertibles were equipped this way. 17" Dymag wheels became standard equipment.

Whoa!!! :eek

As we have come to know, Callaway Cars projected selling twice the 1987 production runs numbers however, 1988 production rested at 125 cars total of which 105 were B2K coded.
The whole story can be read Here:

I believe Callaway was anticipating making 400 cars that year. I mean, when they built that car they'd only made 90 so far. So they were guessing. I don't believe they continued that practice for later years, did they? I believe the '90 I looked at just said #24 and that was that.

I also believe that Callaway supplied a new number tag for the vehicles that had the 400 number on the number plate.

Aurora is correct - the anticipation was to build 400 cars that year, roughly double the first years production...

It did not happen however, the number plates had already been made up in a batch -
Hope this helps :m :v
