1988 Corvette Coupe - Bright Red
I bought an 88 Corvette coupe recently. The car has green coolant in it. In case I need additional coolant in the future to add, I did some research here and learned about Zerex green coolant. It meets GM standards for their 1988 vehicles. I went shopping to buy today, but none of the area NAPA stores carry it. What should I purchase if I cannot find the Zerex? Where could I find your recommendation? Thanks for your help!

zerex antifreeze

Zerex was an old trademark of DuPont. They sold the trademark, can't remember to whom. The company died. It was ethylene glycol, green stuff. Many current coolants are the same stuff; read the ingredient list. It will say if it meets GM specs for your year.
The pink stuff is propylene glycol and much friendlier to the environment. Pink is not nearly as good a coolant. The pink and green don't mix well. Do not mix them. For an '88, the green stuff came with it and it would do well to stick with it. Just don't put it into the gutter, take old stuff to a recycling center.
Hope this helps.
