I just purchased the nicest 35th Anniversary Corvette. The previous owner replaced water pump and other items. Unfortunately the mechanic that did the work, forgot to tighten down the auxillary fan in the front of the radiator behind the front bumper. I reattached it but it does not come on. I live in Tampa, Fl and without the fan the car will run hot. Is there a fan relay swithch for this unit and where would it be? I checked the fuse it is okay. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Joe. My e-mail address is jboss327@aol.com.

There is a fan relay but Im not sure where it is.If you go to the parts store they should be able to look it up to find the location. Its supposed to come on when the ac is turned on or the temp reaches 230.

Your auxiliary (front) fan is controlled by the coolant temperature switch which is located between the plugs on the drivers side. There's a single wire with a blade type connector going to it. I can't remember the temp it turns on this fan but it was too high for me. I replaced it with one from MAD that turns the fan on at 200 and off at 180 (which means it runs pretty much all the time). The main (rear) fan is controlled by a relay in the a/c line and goes on either when the a/c is turned on or when the temp goes to something like 230.

If you do a search on "auxiliary fan" you'll probably find plenty of threads to help you or let me know and I'll scan the appropriate pages from my service manual.
