Welcome aboard. I moved your question to the C4 Technical Forum. I think you will get a better response here.

May be a fuel problem. Any smell of gas when you shut it off? Any codes? Has it been timed or pull a plug to see how it's firing. Fuel pressure? Need more info>

Also after you've cleared fuel as a possible answer, try pulling off a plug wire from the cap. If you have no spark MOST likely you've got a module problem.

Simple fix:
Pull off cap
Take off Rotor

You'll see the module now. Kinda horseshoe shaped Plugged into a wire harness at one end and plugged into a connector on the other.

Pull it out and replace

MAKE SURE you use the cooling gel on the tin side of the module (Gel comes with the part)

Reverse procedure you're done

This is also a GREAT time to replace the cap/rotor...tune up etc..

When my 1988 had that problem it turned out to be a leaking fuel injector. A simple removal of the spark plugs (after sitting a feew moments) will tell you which one, if any, is leaking. I replaced the injector and no more problems.
