this weekend the rt headlite would rotate into position half the time, the other time it opened only half way. the manual knob worked to close , but only slight movement to fully open. i ordered new gears from madvette, for both lights, assuming the left will go soon. is replacing the motor gears a weekend project for a quasi-able backyard mechanic or take to a real mechanic for installation?

it is not a bad job. i took the complete assymbly off of the hood to work on, make sure you mark the location.
all you have to do is take the three bolts on the side to get to the gear. on my 92 i had one bolt that was blocked by a bracket but i used an open wrench and loosened it to where i could slide the cover to the side to gain access to the gear.
make sure you have some paper down, the old grease is like a powder it will get everywhere!

Headlites

Hi, I'm about ready to redo my headlight acuators/motors also. My head lights come up before the parking lights come on. New switch, New module, checked circuitry, I have current when and where test procedure indicates, but lights come up without headlights. Also, I ordered a module on line and it was garbage. Got a new one from local dealer and my lights do what they originaly did, come up too early. I'm going after the acuators/motors next, since they do have a growl/runon going up or down. Thanks for listening to me *****. Have a nice day!
