Help! '89 29,000m odometer stopped

Got a ,89 with 28,922 original miles digi.tach&speedo work. odometer stopped.Is there a gear behind dash on odometer or is setup like a potentiometer somewhat????????

The odometer is driven by an electronic "stepper" motor, that gets its signal from the speedometer digital electronics. Either the stepper motor has failed, or there is a problem in your digital instrument cluster.
