I like it.. do you have a full side shot though?

Possible, need more pics. What red is that?

I'm glad someone else noticed those.

I have seen those painted wheels only on 1989 cars, and only in yellow or red. That wheel style was used in 1988 and 1989. My car has those same painted holes. I always wondered if it were a rare dealer or factory option because it seems unusual that they would only appear on that particular wheel style. In addition, my wheels are 11" wide in back (and the normal size 9.5" in front) unusual because 11" factory wheels weren't available until the 1990 ZR1 when the wheel style changed.

So, is it factory, a dealer option, or custom? Not even the Corvette Black Book knows.

Here's the car, looks exactly like mine except mine has 85,000 fewer miles on it.

hey there,
i had an 89 with those wheels, actually the 88 year this wheel was only on the annivesary car,not all 88s,in 1990 they came without the center cap,i thought about doing the same thing, looks good to me,i went and got the polished zr1 replicas instead, you could lower that bad boy though:Dlater,Todd.

Actually the 89 style wheel was avail in 88 too. it was Standard on the 35th anniversary in white but optional on the rest in silver.

I would go with dealer installed or an aftermarket paint job on the wheels. I have seen this done in a lot of other colors - done on these wheels and the later sawblades as well...

I've been thinking about doing it to my wheels only in blue.......

I like it. Did it come that way or did you have it done? I would do it if I could fins high temp paint that matches my cars color...

Len

Len, take a browse through a model shop. They have a urethane paint used for model airplanes that'll withstand the higher temperatures wheels tend to run. I used some black paint on my Gotti's and it worked fine; I just brushed it on, and because it's so thick, it isn't too hard to keep the brush marks to a minimum. There should be a blue close enough to what you need. ;)
