I just purchased a 90 model convertible with typical problems. The radio plays but the volume is real low. Any suggestions. I would like to keep it factory, its a bose gold system.

Radio

You want to send it to Doctor Don's. www.doctordons.com

I sent my radio in to him and had it back in less than 2 weeks from the time I shipped it.

It's been three years now without any problems and the price was was much lower than I could have put an after market in for.

Like you I wanted to keep the car OEM.:beer

have used dr dons myself on serveral occasions with good results steve

Did anyones radio duplicate what mine is doing, low volume? I looked on ebay and there are guys that say it's the amps. If its the radio itself I will send it to Don.

Yeah, the amps are bad to bite the big one!!But it is really rare that all 4 go out at once! The nice thing about it allot of other cars have the same amps!! (Some Nissan and Mazda With Bose and Some years of Camaro,Fire Bird,Cadillac,Chevy Tahoe,GMC Yukon and some others!!)

Hmm, to me this sounds like an amp problem. The amps can be restored, and the cost would probably be less than buying new amps. Just do a web search on "bose amp repair" and a bunch of places pop up.

I used a guy on eBay to repair all my amps and the head unit...total cost was around $350. Sounds great now.
