That recent post about 91 hp and torque has prompted me to ask about the 90's figures. I have read different figures - my owners manual says 390 hp while a Callaway brochure I have says 403 hp. Also I have seen torque figures of 562 ilb/ft and 570. Anyone know which is right or whether there were differences in the 90 model year (early/late 90 cars?)

If so what's the difference, - maybe the wonderbar?!

390 hp is the "rating"

Wonderbars were different between the years as 90 uses the 88-90 piece while the 91's use one nicknamed "ET" as it looks like the movie figures neck.
Otherwise they are basically the same - hope this helps :m

Thats always been a hot topic of conversation. I think I asked the same question about 9 months ago. No one really knows why the change. I personally guess it was the wonderbar, but have nothing to back that up with.

Malc, Here are some pics Luigi took of his 91 - notice how the inlet is from the stock housing area - down to the middle of the "Wonderbar" then exits to feed 2 tubes to the Turbos...
88-90 cars had airbox beneath the passenger side headlight area and fed into the front/side of the passenger side of the sealed wonderbar :m
