90 rear end noises in reverse

hey, new member. 1990 automatic. After start up, when back up, hear a grinding noise in back of car. Car does not have to be moving for this to happen. Wondered if it was radio mast, but it's already up before this happens. Wondered if it was maybe FX-3 cycling. My rt. rear is leaking a little fluid, but I have no warning light, and that light has already gone off after start up. Plus, it's pretty loud. There is a grinding noise when the ABS resets itself, that you hear at 3-4mph everytime you start the car.

If the rear is leaking fluid you must have that fixed, but what you say sounds like a fuel pump if its going on before you get moving.

Thanks. I try to pay attention to all the details, but I'll try and figure if the sound happens in forward or reverse. I just seem to notice it in reverse, b/c usually notice it backing out first thing in the morning. It doesn't seem really tied to the fact the car is moving b/c it usually doesn't sound until after the car's moving.
