I have a 92 6-Spd with stock exhaust and engine, 60K miles. Would I actually get any fuel economy from installing a hypertech
thermomaster chip and thermostat? Would it cause me more problems then it is worth??? Thanks.

I had a HyperTech Thermomaster chip in my stock 92 6-sp car from early 94 until recently. The gas mileage did not change from stock. If felt a little better at full throttle but I never had it dyno'ed to prove it.

It did eliminate the CAGs stuff entirely - no lockout and no dash light. It did allow the motor to run cooler since it turned on the fans sooner, which goes with the 160 stat you need to install with it. I'd by happy to sell it.

I'm not using it now since my motor has been mod'ed beyond what the Thermomaster can support now.
