92 6 speed shifter

I have a strange quirk with my 92. Under power (especially in first and second gear) the shifter rises at least an inch or so. Is this normal or do I have a bad mount somewhere?

Any help is appreciated.

You have something really wrong.
Shifter is very comfortable. It
does not move at the base at all.
The only part that moves (obviously)
is the knob when you move it!

Check the transmission mounts. This is not normal and I have heard of this happening before but I forget what the exact cause is.

found the problem

The big support beam that connects the transmission to the differential...It turns out that the bolts at the transmission were slightly loose. I tightened them up and no more movement.

How about that,
Adam
