92 Chrome or Aluminum Valve Covers

Hi:

Anyone know who manufactures a chrome or polished aluminum set of valve covers for the '92-'96 LT-1 that retains all of the factory holes and connections?

I don't know the answer to your question as I am using GM performance black covers on my 92.

However, I will point out that the 92 has very different valve covers than the 93-96 LT1. First, they are magnesium vice composite. Second, they are shorter by about 1/4 inch. Third, the accessory drive brace on the 92, drivers side, isn't bowed up as much and will not clear the taller covers used on the 93-96. Fourth, the bolts are different. Fifth, the PVC is located on the top of the cover vice the side so the PVC hose is different.

With that said, you'll be looking for very specific covers that fit the 92 and 92 only, or you will be needing new bolts, the later models accessory brace and a modified PVC hose.

I, too, have a 92 LT1 and want the same thing, polished aluminum covers. I've been to many car shows with lots of vendors and no success. So, for now, I've sanded the covers as smooth as possible and painted them with a high temp aluminum paint. IMHO, they look much cleaner and more fitting to the rest of the engine. But if you find some one who sells polished covers, let us poor 92 guys know.
