Question: 94 PCM to 91 ECU

Has anyone called PainLess wiring for adptors & harness sections? THEY can help....conversions are the specialty.
There are conversion harness to put LT1 in cars and TPI in cars; not one to make LT1 PCM (Optispark ) work with TPI ECM
There is also the issue of trans control.
If his '94 has a 4L60E then it needs the '94 PCM ( Powertrain Control Module ) to control trans shifts which takes some of it's inputs from the engine .Standalone Elec trans controller @ $1000 unles you retrofit a 4L60

True, BUT, their pre-configured [conversion] harnesses are for something like my example LS1 in place of LT1/C4, or, like oz said, LT1 into L98 car, WHERE baseline specifications are known for each setup, like from FSM's. And then, everything has to be functioning spec too.

It's even more than just re-pinning too - it's WHAT to re-pin. Opti alone carries 3 signals I think, and the ECM uses all 3. Lo-resolution laser (or infrared) signal, hi-resolution, like a CD/DVD reader). Otherwise, the computer's codestrings will have to re-written OUT.

If and only if his new motor has it's own ECM, with baseline specs, I think it MIGHT work. Plug N Play is not going to happen here. He can do it if he wants, but I think he has no idea how much work is involved... Where is op anyway?
