The power antenna mast on my '94 coupe went up, but it will not go back down. The motor runs. Can these be rebuilt, or do I have to buy a new unit? Thanks, in advance.

If the plastic tape that runs the mast up & down broke, it's a fairly simple thing to fix and the kit comes with instructions. Once in a whiile the tape breaks way down it the motor and the assy. needs to come out but normally this doesn't happen. It will take two people, one to run the antenna and one to feed the new tape.

As additional input, you could also just remove the current unit, get an aftermarket "stub" antenna and wire that in as well. The motor on mine has ceased, so that is the route i was planning on doing. But, your car, your choice, good luck in any case.

When I had the 93 mine broke while down. The whole tape was wound around the inside of the housing. Your lucky yours broke in the up position. You can probably get by with just a mast/tape kit.

Thanks, guys. I think I am going to go ahead and try the repair route.

Always good advice and friendly help here.

Thanks, again.
