94 power antenna?

Just a quick question on a power antenna that goes up fine, but goes down not quite all the way. I've cleaned the antenna a few times as stated in the owner's manual, but it still won't go down all the way (without forcing it down manually) Has anybody had any luck with repeated cleaning(everytime I do it, I still get dirt on the rag) to get it to go all the way down automatically? Or do I need to break down and buy a rebuild kit?

I'm not sure that cleaning it will fix it. Mine stays up all the way. Every so often it catches and works fine for a while. The motor is good. The ribbon inside the antenna probably has one of the teeth sheared down and doesn't catch. You may have one sheared in a different place.
There is an antenna replacement kit. Comes with the mast and a new ribbon. You can order one from MAD, Eklers, Zip etc...
Don't buy the whole unit if you can hear your motor running fine.
