I got this "Service ASR" and ASR Off" lights a few weeks ago. Most of the time there was no Code set to be read by the scanner, but I did get DTC 65 in the "History" section of the scanner, but no "Current" codes. The manual mentioned something about ASR codes only being set in the History section (?).

Fuses good. ABS still works. ASR doesn't work. Traced wires from ASR unit to the computer behind the driver seat. Good continuity, but only getting about 2volts at the connector at the ASR unit (friends 96 shows 12.5 volts at same location).

Manual trouble shooting flowchart is a bit confusing (!!).

Any ideas?

Also, can the ASR part of the computer (behind the driver's seat) be separated from the ABS part (with all the brake lines) without fluid going all over the place?

Thanks

I jacked up my 96 to change tires and when i got it back on the ground my asr light was on and the ars was off and the service abs light was on. I don't have a clue. Maybe one of these master minds can give us a hand? If you get any help on this would you let me know, as i will do the same
