96 rear window Tint!!!!!!!!!!

Hi

I recently remembered a catalog selling rear window tints for a C3, did anybody see anybody selling one for a C4??

My dog hangs in the back and l would like to give him some shade. If the sun is out, l am forced to use my other car.

you can have it done at a regular window tint place. I heard that the plastic one that they were selling for the C3 wasn't that good anyway....

On my '96, I had 3M tint put on. the 3M tint has (from what I remember) 76% heat blockage. you also can use any kind of window cleaner with no color change or harm to the tint, and it has a lifetime warrantee

I have talked to one of the guys at a local tinting place and he told me that he can get any type of tint available. He prefers the 3M stuff. Im going to have my interior done in the blue tint that matches the original acrylic top. He said that he has done them before and will give a lifetime guarantee if I use the 3M stuff. Check out some of the tint shops in your area, some may be a little shakey but Im sure you can find a reputable shop.

Hi

Thanks

Alan

p.s. l will start calling window tinting shops in my area.

Something to consider from a fellow NJ Vette'r. Try setting your mirror at the dark setting, especially at night, and see if it will be ok for you beforehand, just in case.

Why, because we are removing our tinting which though looking cool, and is in great shape (put on about a year ago by the previous owner to the legal Florida max), actually makes the window too dark to see through, making it difficult to see when backing-up, especially at night. We are also always reaching to shift the mirror from the dark setting, even though it is not on the dark setting.

Also, based on research we did recently, tinting has a finite life and requires special care, and removal/replacement can be difficult and possibly damage the rear-window defogger, and should probably be done well before it 'dies' by a reputable shop, to minimize possible damage.

Thanks for the heads up.

Alan
