Am thinking about buying a 97. Is there anything that I should specfically look for or be aware of? Any problem areas? Don't want to spend more than $28,500 if possible so is it safe to purchase one with 30 or 40K.
Thanks

I have a 98 with 38k and no problems. Just check everything out carefully and you should be ok. Don't forget to do a carfax check. If you give me a vin I can do complete check on it.

Why a 97?

Since that was the first year of the C5, you might want to look at something newer. We got our 99 with the memory package, Heads up display, dual zone AC, two roofs (blue tint and solid), just about every option offered in 99. We only paid 30k and it had 10,000 miles on it. I even bought it from a dealer so the good deals are out there. We had the opportunity to get a 99 hardtop for 28k and it had 15k miles on it. If you are gonna shell out $500/month or so, get what you want--or close to it. My 2 cents.
