I was at a vette gathering today, and was chatting with folks and listening to the various cat backs they have because I'm considering dropping some cash on a better sound. One guy told me to try the A&A mod. He said just take it to any muffler shop and they'll do it. I'm not exactly clear on what it is, what it entails, what it will do for me and what the trade off is. OR, if I even want to do it. I'm pretty picky about my baby.....

So, anybody know what this guy was talking about? I'm pretty sure A and A mod was what he said...may not have heard it right, it was kinda loud while everybody was cranking up to leave. Sad to end the gathering, but it is my favorite part! :cool

its a muffler by-pass sort of.your mufflers will still flow, but some of the exhaust will go threw the straight piece.its just a straight pipe maybe 6 inchs long.when your pipe comes over the rear and starts to bend toward the muffler,it connects (welded)there and the other side connects where the pipe comes out of the muffler, kinda like a by-pass,but the muffler still flows also,i hope that makes sense.i would put on borla stingers(cat-back)and be done with it.thats the best sound,in my opinion.
Todd.

Thank you sir....perfectly clear. Yes, i agree that the Borla Stingerss sound best so far....the sound being one of personal preference. I do like the Corsa sound, but with the cost of them in the new Tiger tips and the x-pipe to knock out the motorboat idle, the cost difference is too much to make me choose them over the Borlas.

Looks pretty simple...and sounds great. The pics really helped...thanks!

Hello Joe. I have a 99 and was disappointed with the sound of the stock exhaust . However, at this time I cannot afford a $500-$1000 exhaust upgrade so I also became interested in this modification. Went to my local muffler shop told him what I wanted, he said no problem. Did the job, parts and labor for $63. It is worth it. It is louder than stock but not overbearing. No problems with interior "droning", sounds great when going through the gears aggresively.

Just a simple bypass to eliminate some exhaust gasses from entering the muffler!
