You have two otherwise identical C3's; one equipped with a 800 cfm QuadraJet and the other with a 750 cfm double pumper.

Running side-by-side at 45 mph in 4th gear both are given a full throttle on the 3rd blast of a horn.

The QuadraJet C3 will easily pull away from the double pumper equipped C3.

Why?

Follow this advice with fair warning!!!
NO ONE SUBSCRIBES TO HIS WAY OF THINKING
The Sixties & Seventies are past us now and the rest of us learned from their mistakes and this one is still living it!

And by the way, who in their right mind would punch it in 4th gear at 45MPH?
AN 800CFM CARB of any brand would be over kill on a stock engine of any size available in any C3

This is a stupid example!!!
If be willing to bet the Quad would pull away from the Holly by very little with these conditions
Again system specific conditions must be considered when making these accusations.

It's real simple. As the QuadraJet's venturi velocity is over twice as high it'll easily outrun the double pumper. The engineers gave us the fabulous AVS and vacuum secondary carburetors to produce the most power possible from idle to maximum speeds and years later people decide THEY want to control their secondaries. People's logic never ceases to amaze me.
