Just checking this out - heard that the A/C idler pulley on automatic trans cars goes after about 30K miles and has the potential of slicing the A/T lines?

Anyone heard/experienced this?

I did a search in the forum and the learning center and saw some posts and articles on tensioner pulleys - its appears that there may have been a design change in 01. But I wasn't sure if this was the same issue.

Thanks.

HI there,
The pulley in question is the same on autos or manuals.
The tensioners on 97-00 were prone to problems, but were changed in design and have been very good since.
However, I have never seen one cause a cut transmission hose.
