A.I.R. and my LT-1

Steve,

My car also has the two groove crank pulley. The water pump pully is a three groove and the A.I.R. pump is run off the third (most forward) of these three grooves.

Billy, Steve,

I'll have to double check, but my pulley is also 2 groove. My car doesn't currently have the AIR pump but I'm pretty positive it came with it. Couldn't tell you the suffix tho' since I don't have the original block. One of my exh. man. has plugged AIR fittings, but the other does not -- at least that man. is not original to my car.

What else is supposed to run off the crank shaft pulley? I don't have any options to speak of -- no A/C, no power steering, etc., so I didn't expect my pulleys to have accommodations for these options.

jmp,

On my car the first pulley (closest to the block) runs the alternator. The middle pulley runs the power steering and the third (only on the water pump) runs the A.I.R. pump. From all my research, all '72 LT-1 Corvettes were equipped with A.I.R.
