I changed my 02 sensor on Sunday. I would like to thank everyone who gave me advice. I definatly used it. I first tried to see if I could take any off without removing anything. I let the car run for about 10 minutes and then started on the Drivers side/Closest to the engine. It popped out with out a problem. I had a little trouble disconnecting the electrical part, due to the hot exhaust. I had trouble lining the new up, I was never good putting things in the hole:D This step took 30 min with just a couple of burns. I then started on the passenger side/ closest to the engine. Once again this one came out with no problems. I got this on in on the first shot. See practice does make perfect, now if I could convince my girl friend this I would be good.:D. This one took about 25 min. I then moved to the rear drivers side. I had no problem getting to the sensor itself, but the connector was a little difficult. There is not enough room between the exhaust and the automatic tranny and my hands were too big to get in between, You know what they say about big hands. ;) Instead of dropping the exhaust, I cheated. I had my girlfriend slide her slendor arms up there and disconnect it. I told her that if she burned herself I would kiss it and make it feel better. For some reason that did not appease her. ;shrug She slide it up there, connected it and I put the sensor in. This step took me almost an hour and half (40 min trying to convince her and show her what I wanted her to do). I then broke for a little lunch. The last one was a PAIN!. Getting to the sensor was not that hard, but the damn thing would not come out. I let the car run about 10 min and then tried again. After some colorful adjectives and 1 cut knuckle, the thing came out. I guess after the car sat for so long the exhuast had time to cool and seal itself back around the sensor. The connector was in a really bad spot. Once again, I had my girl friend help me out with her slendor arms. She was more willing this time and kept saying that I owed her for this after everything was over. :confused She tried, but could not get to the connector. Her arms were too big. I was looking up at it thinking Crap, I am going to have to drop the exhaust. Just then my neighbors 10 yr boy came up and asked what I was doing? :) Yep! You guessed it. I bribed him with some Ice Cream and he crawled under the car and disconnected the connector and put the other one back in. :cool The whole process from jacking up the car and everything else took me about 5 hours. Not too bad. It cost me some Ice Cream and a couple of burns and a small cut.

Oh yea, You are probably wondering about the missing 3 hours?
My payment to my girl friend included; Dinner and the movie "Terms of Endearmant". :hb :hb :hb :hb :hb

Terms of Endearment?

Oh yeah, you paid! :L

btw, Neat trick with the ice cream. I wish I had thought of that with the neighbor's kids...I don't get any help out of them for less than $10. The little $-grubbers!

Heidi they just have you fig. out.....A lady with a Vette ........they see big money........I bet the neighbor on the other side with the Volkswagon pays only min. wage.....:TALK

Hmmm....

...maybe I'll demand they allow me to pay them less, while giving them a 'perk', like a ride in the vette! (they're so short, I'm not sure they could see over the tops of the doors!) :L
Heidi

Their mother complains that now she can't get them to do anything around the house to help her...without they are asking how much she is paying!
I guess it takes a lot to get them off the couch and away from the playstation...

UB2 SLOW, if you don't mind me asking, what did the lot of O2s cost? From GM or parts house?

KOPBET.
:)

Kopbet, I got them from AutoZone for $50 a piece.

I got my 02 sensor through GM Parts Direct for around $40 including the shipping. I only changed one, but probably should have changed both while I was under their.

Pre 96 C4's only have 2. The 96 Vettes have 4 due to OBDII, while the 95 and older have 2 due to OBDI.

Justin, your just plain wrong man.:L
and yes it is a long sappy love story and blah blah blah. Its a sequal to Steel Magnolias. By the end of the movie I wanted to set my hair on fire and put it out with an Ice Pick!

UB2 SLOW,
Damn glad to hear that at $50 a piece:beer

Justin_cv87 is probly to young to have ever heard of the movie:L
