AAArgh wiring

i have a thin gauge orange wire comming out of the harness. it appaears to be going towards the starter, but i am very not sure.. any ideas.HELP

Robin, do you have an Assembly Manuel? That is about the only way to trace the wires. I used mine to find/id some suspicious wires. If you don't have one you should consider the investment. I am not at home right now to look it up for you but maybe someone will be on that has their book with them.

andy i have three sets of wiring diagrams. however ,i guess i am not seeing a clear answer. i was hoping for some extra help..

orange wire

Where in the harness is it? Under the hood I assume? Can you describe the location and how much is hanging out?

Robin, I will go out tomorrow and look around under my hood and see if I can find this orange wire. More description as to location would help.

The only orange wire in that area is the power feed for the heater blower on a heater-only car, or to the blower relay on an A/C car, but they're nowhere near the starter. There's a yellow wire (might be discolored to look like orange) that goes to the "R" terminal on the starter solenoid, which feeds a full 12 volts to the coil when cranking.

the wire is a small gauge 18 ga, also it is covered in a cloth tube. its on the passenger side(what is left of it) just above the evaporator/heater box. maybe this info will help
