Abnormal vibration under acceleration

I've just recently noticed something that appears to be getting a little worse as time goes on. When I take it up through red line through the gears (6 sp) every once in a while just to have al little fun, I notice that under hard acceleration when I get a pretty severe vibration between 4K and 5K RPM. It smooths back out after 5K. Not positive if this is the engine or maybe in the trans. It seems worse in 1st 2nd and 3rd than the others, but then again I don't usually get a chance to wind it up all the way through all the gears. I noticed it from the very beginning, but it seems to be getting a little worse as we go along. I now have about 8K miles on the car (8 months old). I noticed a little vibration on the 6 sp test car I drove last Nov before I bought mine. So I just thought maybe this was a characteristic, but I thought I would post this and hope to hear from some others if this is normal or not. By the way, I have an '03 C5 automatic and it's a smooth as glass.
Thanks for you help.

Hi there,
If you bring the revs up to 4/5k with the car in Park, and the vibration is there, engine or torque tube related.
If it is only when driving, most likely rear axle or tires.

Thanks. I guess that would be the obvious first step, although I think this only does this when the engine is under a load. I will check it out.
